ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors selection papers published in Journal Cell Science, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Gaëlle Letort author on ‘ An interpretable and versatile machine learning approach for oocyte phenotyping’, JCS. conducted research described this article while post-doc Marie-Emilie Terret Marie-Hélène Verlhac’s lab at Collège de France, Paris. She now Research Engineer (CNRS) Department Developmental Stem Biology Institut Pasteur, Paris, investigating mathematical modelling image analysis applied to biology.
